The Good: more content than cable, THE INTERNET (big plus), familiar android environment so easy to use/get use to, the price, fairly fast processor (considering it's a media player), can be hacked/jail broke (according to some articles i found on the internet). this is great for surfing the web and using king office suite to do documents. i have large fingers so i ended up getting a full size wireless keyboard with a touch pad. tv remote and touch pad on one side, keyboard/game remote on the flip side. So don't expect this to be like a tablet. the interface is very limited in what it can do. it has the ability to have a cable box go thru it and integrate regular tv with internet tv. it also has popular apps already installed like netflix. and you can download SOME apps from the Android Market or Play Store (same thing). this unit can also surf the internet with a chrome browser. I found this to be more than the other devices.

my blu-ray player did the same as most media streamers. I originally wanted a simple media streaming device, but after trying a few of them, i was very disappointed. You can get two Dynex brand for under $35.00, and they work as good as any high dollar cables. That is the best way to get the full experience. All in all, I would recommend the Co-Star to everyone.ĭon't forget to buy another HDMI cable if you want to route it through your cable/satellite box. I have only used the web browser once, but it seemed to work just fine. There also is no light on the Co-Star indicating that it is on, so you have to wait on the TV to come on to be sure the Co-Star is on. For instance, you can set it up to control your TV and cable/satellite box, including turning off the TV, but you can't turn off your cable/satellite box. The remote is full featured, but could be a little better. And being an Amazon prime member, I can also watch movies there, as well as other places via apps from Google Play. It is a lot less expensive than buying smart TV's. I have since bought two more for the bedrooms. I bought my first one two weeks ago for the living room. I bought it mainly for the purpose of watching my digital library via Plex. This is a great little device for watching your personal library.
